Our Aymara Autumn Leaf Butterfly cufflinks are made from real Merchanitis Lysimnia butterfly wings, which are then enameled over, and set in leaf-shaped Peruvian Sterling Silver. It comes from the Pilpintuwasi Butterfly Orphanage in Peru, where butterflies live and die naturally in their own unique Amazon locale. These butterflies are recognized by their distinctive tiger patterning in black, orange, and cream. They spend their adult lives visiting Eupatorium flowers in forest clearings and lively along riverbanks. For the most of the part observable in the early morning and late afternoon, the Mechanitis gather to aestivate in moisture areas, normally near deep gullies tucked far inside the forest.
